Los Angeles plays host to several major
league sports teams and offers several venues new and
old. Starting with Santa Anita Racetrack to the east,
you'll be able to go in any direction from the Beverly
Garland and cheer your favorites.

Dodger
Stadium, located close to downtown Los Angeles, has been
the home of the Los Angeles Dodgers since their move
from Brooklyn in the late 1950's. The Stadium, also known
as Chavez Ravine, is located in Downtown Los Angeles
just north of the L.A. Music Center complex. Along with
Dodger games, you'll be able to enjoy occasional outdoor
concerts at the home of L.A.'s most beloved sports franchise.
Less than 2 miles south of Dodger Stadium
is the internationally known Staples Center, home to
several sports teams, including the L.A. Lakers and Clippers
of the NBA, the Sparks of the WNBA, the Kings of the
NHL and the Avengers of the AFL. The Staples Center is
also Los Angeles' premier music venue, not to be outdone
by the Gibson
(Universal) Amphitheatre at CityWalk.
The
world famous Rose Bowl, with its massive 100K+ capacity,
sits in a quiet residential neighborhood 12 miles to
the east in Pasadena. Pasadena also is home to the Rose
Parade, held in conjunction with the Rose Bowl game.
Rain or shine, the Rose Parade draws millions of spectators
and television viewers annually for its 2 hour floral
celebration. |
