As you travel into Hollywood, you'll come
to the Hollywood & Highland
complex, which frames the new Kodak Theatre,
home to the Academy Awards®. Going east you'll find
the Hollywood Walk of Fame, the famous corner
of Hollywood & Vine, and Grauman's Chinese
Theatre. South of Hollywood is the famed Los
Angeles County Museum of Art, whose complex
abuts the La Brea Tar Pits and the Petersen
Automotive Museum.
There's always a full schedule
of tapings at Paramount,
NBC and CBS Television City. Shows run the
gamut from sitcoms to pilots, to game and
talk shows.
If you'd really like to immerse yourself in Hollywood,
visit world famous Universal Studios Theme
Park, or ride the coasters at Six Flags Magic
Mountain.
A trip to Southern California would
not be complete without a trip to Knott's Berry
Farm and Disneyland, both less than 40 minutes
by freeway.
Studio tours, theaters & museums, amusement parks - you'll
find it within an easy drive of the Beverly Garland Hotel. With such an incredible array
of attractions, you'll never be at a loss for something to do.
And, for those who'd prefer a more leisurely mode of travel,
the Metro Red Line Station is less than a mile away at Universal City and Universal City Walk of Hollywood.
Just over the hill is Griffith Park, home to the
L.A. Zoo, the Museum of the American West,
and the Griffith Park Observatory. After more
than 66 years of continuous use, the grand
art deco structure is undergoing a major renovation
and expansion. Every system and element of
the Observatory is being restored to its original
grandeur and improved for the current level
of public use (nearly two million visitors
a year), including a state-of-the-art planetarium
theater.
