Watch a Film at the International Student Film Festival at Beverly Garland!

Are you spending your weekend in hotels in Hollywood? This weekend the Beverly Garland hotel is hosting the 10th Annual International International Student Film FestivalStudent Film Festival. The festival gives student filmmakers from all over the globe the opportunity to network with film industry leaders and gain recognition for their work right in the entertainment capital itself: Hollywood.

On Saturday, the Foreign Language, Documentary, Drama, Sci-Fi/Thriller films will screen from 11am to midnight. Sunday will focus on Thriller/Comedy/Action and Documentary/Fantasy films along with Experimental Animation. The Awards Ceremony will be held at 5pm with networking and mingling with filmmakers, cast, crew and guests. The 2012 ISFFH Lifetime Achievement and Excellence Awards will be given out along with filmmaker awards.

The Film Festival will be holding a special lecture by Ip Wischin on Saturday, November 15 at 7:30pm. Austrian filmmaker and founder of “Vienna Filmcoach School” started a career as a film and media consultant for corporations in Los Angeles. For 10 years he was the artistic director of Pygmalion Theater in Vienna.  Ip Wischin will share his techniques on dialogue, story and conflict. The lecture is titled “Advanced Film Dramaturgy Tools for Writers and Directors.” You can buy tickets to this lecture for $10 here.

Daily screenings are $10 each day. Students with ID can watch films for $5. You can get a festival pass to the awards ceremony and all screenings for $35. A pass to all screenings is $15. The Awards Ceremony is $25 to attend on its own.
