A Cooking Class Worthy of a Parisian Valentine's Day
If Paris is the city of love and food is the language of love, then what do you get when you mix the two? A night of great company, great cooking and…well…love! You may not be able to take a trip to Paris, but staying here in California never looked so good. CookLA is hosting the perfect Valentine’s night for those of you who love preparing food almost as much as you like eating it.
Chefs Liz and Adam are on hand to take you through some of the best recipes from Julia Child’s book “Mastering the Art of French Cooking.” Regardless of your skill level, you will learn to prepare dishes such as Chicken Roulade with a Tarragon Cream Sauce, Tomatoes a la Provencale, and individual 3-onion French Soup. There will even be a chance to try your hand at champagne truffles and chocolate covered strawberries as it just wouldn’t be a Valentine’s Day occasion without them.
There will be an opportunity to try a taste of some French wine, and you are also more than welcome to bring your own wine to drink too as food and wine often go hand in hand, especially at celebrations —and what is Valentine’s Day if not a celebration of love? However, don’t be put out if you don’t have a date. This event is not exclusive to couples, and you are more than welcome to come alone.
The event is being held at CookLA, which is on Ventura Blvd. in Studio City on February 14 between 7pm and 10pm. Tickets for the event are $80 and you will need to purchase them in advance. In the interest of health and safety, please let the chefs know if you have any food allergies.
So come along and let the language of love speak to the one you love this Valentine’s Day. This cooking class is one of the great alternative Valentine’s date ideas to do.
